KANACHUR Islamic Education trust - the sponsoring body was founded in the year 2001 by Dr. Haji U K Monu. It is a family trust where Dr. Haji U K Monu is the founder trustee and the other trustees are Mrs. Zohara Monu W/o of U K Monu, Mrs. Umaya Banu D/o U K Monu, Mr. Abdul Rahiman S/o of U K Monu, Mrs.Farida D/o U K Monu and Dr. Abida D/o U K Monu. The prime objective of the non profit making charitable trust was to set the landable objective of providing inclusive education.and creating equality of opportunities to students from different strata of society. A child which joined kanachur school at kindergarten can go through elementary, primary and secondary levels of education and can take up higher education in the same place for their professional career enhancement. A boy or girl can qualify himself or herself with sufficient knowledge and skills to settle down in life.The trust takes care of children who are good in studies but from the economically weaker sections; from the communities around, by offering scholarships in their education fees and provides them the much needed educational materials and or support they need; enabling them to complete their formal education with a spirit of values and instilling in them the moral principles of humanity.Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) stands as a distinguished architectural marvel, marked by its imposing structure and enchanting aesthetics that captivate all observers. Over the last 4 decades he has planned and worked relentlessly; and achieved accolades for his outstanding contribution into the fields of education, social work, religious services and businesses both within and outside India. We rarely find the achievers who have done remarkable things through their painstaking work, commitment, perseverance and character though they have only basic literacy. Dr. Haji U.K. Monu a self-taught and a self-made entrepreneur and an educationist with an undying passion for constant learning and amelioration . His empathetic nature empowers his social service reach; thus helping many poor families who are economically backward, facilitating fee concessions and free education for really deserving students. He has held free mass marriages for poor couples. He has covered a vast sphere of business interests and diverse social ventures too, providing both direct and indirect employment to scores of people. He has business establishments in Burma, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Malaysia, Africa, South America, Indonesia. The Trust Office is located in Natekal, Mangaluru a small town in Ullal taluk. The place naturally looks very beautiful overlooking the western Ghats on the right and Netravati river connected to the Arabian Sea on left. The sea breeze and land breeze, therefore keeps the place cool most part of the year except during summer (March to May) when the temperature and humidity will be very high, and the Sultry. The temperature of the place will be between 28.2 to 31.4 degrees centigrade with the mean temp of 25.1 degrees Centigrade. The flora and fauna are unique for the area. The rainfall in this area is about 2453 mm mainly between June to September, due to the South East monsoon and between October to December due to the North West monsoon. Mangaluru is well connected by road, rail and air transport. It also boasts of an elegant sea port.The trust started its education institution on a 70 acre area in the year 2001, at Natekal - rural Mangaluru.. The vegetation in this place is represented by the species of western Ghats. The soil is laterite and porous and therefore water retention capacity of the soil is poor. However water retention can be done by liming the bottom of ponds with clay soil. There is a good scope for adopting rain water harvesting methods particularly roof harvesting and bore well recharging.

The trust plans to establish a biodiversity garden with different spices of plants from western Ghats. Already they have collected saplings of 1000 species of plants of western Ghats in the greenery area of the campus. Some more plant species will be introduced in the coming years. The plants will be given manure and sprinkler irrigation till plants root properly in the soil (about 4 years on average). The plants will be labelled properly with botanical names, local names with the help of scientist from Pilikula a bio university park near Vamanjoor, Mangalore. If properly maintained, this garden will attract students of botany and scientist students from universities and National Labs. Since the collection includes flowering and fruiting plants, they will attract birds and bees and small animals. Eventually the Kanachur Trust can demonstrate that the educational institutions can also contribute to ex-situ conservation of plants.
