It is a constituent college of Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, under the aegis of Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust for Backward Classes, Kolar. Established in 1986, the college is named after the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Devaraj Urs, who was a great social, political and economic reformer of the state.
